Community Shares’ workplace giving campaigns reflect an employer’s commitment to diversity, community involvement and civic pride while helping to meet the needs of the community. Employees are empowered to consider and support a full range of charitable giving options in our area. Workplace giving also gives managers and employees an opportunity to work together for a common cause. Becoming a donor workplace within Community Shares enhances your company or organization’s public image as a caring and compassionate civic leader who values the community of which it is a part.

Employees can choose to donate in several ways: with cash, check, credit/debit card or through payroll deduction. Whether your company does payroll in-house or sends it to an outside payroll processor, implementing automatic payroll deduction for charity is a simple process that requires no more time than implementing any other deduction.

To best meet the needs of your workplace, Community Shares offers you a choice of different campaign methods:

  • Traditional paper pledge card
  • Online pledging
  • Fillable PDF
  • Combination of any of the above

The key to a successful campaign is adequate planning. Here are some quick tips to help you plan a successful workplace fundraising campaign with Northwest Ohio Community Shares:

  • Review campaign materials so that you can answer questions.
  • Depending on the size of your company, you may need to recruit a team to spread out the work.  Be sure to include important leaders within your organization.
  • Set the start and end dates for your campaign.  Should be a minimum of 2-3 weeks in length.  Give yourself enough time to reach out to all employees, but also be aware that a campaign lasting too long may result in burnout and low participation.
  • Plan for involvement of employees in the campaign. The more involvement and promotion your campaign receives in the workplace, the more successful it will be.
  • Please feel free to call Community Shares! We are always happy to help.
